ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany business leaders expect the area's economy to grow this year.
The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce held its 106th annual meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn Thursday night.
Leaders came together to celebrate the successes of 2015 and talk about what to look forward to this year.
The Interim Chamber President says 2015 was a year of collaboration.
"What you saw as a result of that is increased capital investment in economic development, you saw increased investment in tourism dollars," said Barbara Rivera-Holmes, Interim Chamber President. "You saw growth in our membership at the Chamber of Commerce, you're seeing retail expand, you're seeing education come to life."
The Chamber gave a Lifetime Service Award to Leland Burkart, Ambassador of the Year to Peggy Haire with the Marine Corps Logistics Base, and a Non-profit organization of the Year to Mission Change.
