ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A medical problem may have led to a deadly crash Tuesday night outside MCLB Albany.
65-year old Harry Martin of Albany hit two cars before crashing near the Marine Canal.
The coroner suspects Martin suffered some sort of medical issue leading up to the crash, but the investigation is still ongoing.
Police say Martin's Chevrolet pickup ended up crashing through the a Marine base fence and into a ditch on South Mock Road.
Emergency responders moved the truck to another location where his body was cut from the smashed truck.
Coroner Michael Fowler said Martin died of blunt force trauma.
"Right now we just subpoenaed those records now, trying to determine what all was going on prior to that time. Was he taking any medication, did he have any health issues?" asked Fowler.
Several people in the cars hit by Martin's truck suffered non life threatening injuries.
Fowler says an autopsy is not planned for now.
