CORDELE, GA (WALB) - Gas prices are at a 7 year low, and folks in South Georgia are loving it. Drivers in Cordele filled up for a $1.59.
AAA said gas prices should peak sometime this summer around $2.18. People at the pump don't mind.
"A year ago it was $60-70 to fill up or whatever back when it was close to 3 and 4 dollars a gallon," said Wendell Breedlove.
"People get to travel and not have to worry about breaking the bank or taking money from something else to travel. So it's nice," said Geraldine Dennard.
The expected average price for a gallon of gas for 2016 is $2.03.
