LEE CO., GA (WALB) -

Parents of special needs children are excited to have their kids participate in sports for a second year. The Challenger League in Lee County provides special needs kids with an opportunity to take part in organized sports.

Each child is teamed up with a buddy who helps them out and gives the parents time to relax.

One parent says the league has built a bond that is unbreakable.

"You feel like your on you're on your little island and you're all alone," said Jennifer Rigsby. "And to have something where we can come together has been life changing."

Registration is available at Century Fire Station in Lee Co.

Here are the times available to sign up for the baseball season:

Tuesday, January 19 from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, January 24 from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, January 26 from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
