APD identifies stabbing victim

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault that occurred around 12:07 a.m. Sunday morning.

Police say that 33-year-old Tony S. Currington was stabbed in the neck by an unidentified man in the 1800 block of West Gordon Avenue.

Currington said that he was waiting for a ride, when someone came up beside him and stabbed in the neck with an unknown object.

The victim was taken to Phoebe Putney by EMS with serious injuries.

Albany Police are investigating the incident, but no suspects have been identified yet
