Multiple arrests made in 'high-grade' marijuana bust

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

At a Friday morning news conference, the Albany - Dougherty Drug Unit announced that agents have confiscated over two pounds of marijuana, with a street value of $30,000.

Dexter Markeia Carter, 30, Erica Charlese Spann, 24, John Albert Zackery, II, who is 26, were all arrested in connection with the crime.

ADDU says that officers stopped Carter in a 2010 Dodge Challenger on 7th Avenue Wednesday night. A passenger in the car jumped out and ran away, dropping drugs as he ran.

They took Carter and Zackery into custody, and went to Carter's Apartment on 16th Avenue, where they found more pot.

They arrested his girlfriend, Eric Spann there.

All three are charged with possession of marijuana, with intent to distribute.

They say this is very high-grade pot, and they are trying to find out where Carter got it.
