LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -

An autistic man in Leesburg received an apology from the man who was caught on camera running over his bike.

Dominick Cole is well-known in town and does work at the Griffin Lumber Company.

That's where his bicycle was parked last month when a pickup truck ran over it.

Police thought it was intentional and charged the driver with leaving the scene of an accident.

That man stopped by the business this week to apologize and drop off money to buy Dominick a new bike.

"The man didn't intentionally run over the bicycle, we don't feel. He felt bad about it and once he found out that he had done it. I mean he thought he ran over, there's some cement out there in the front parking lot and he thought he had hit it," said Rick Watson, the manager of Griffin Lumber.

Watson said that Dominick even gave the man a hug after the apology.
