MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - The Colquitt County Packers football team was honored Tuesday night for their championship season.

A couple of groups named the Packers national champs.

They didn't come out on top in the Max Preps polls, but Max Preps teamed up with the National Guard to present the team with a Tour of Champions award at Tuesday's basketball game.

Moultrie native Sgt. First Class Mark Breedlove presented the team the trophy.

He said that the Packers possess a lot of qualities the National Guard represents.

"A very eventful season, a very fun season everybody likes a winner and these kids are certainly winners. We are certainly happy and proud of them throughout the community," said Breedlove.

The Packers have won 30 straight games and two straight state championships.
