Albany city officials ask folks to reset sprinklers

Albany City officials are asking folks to turn off their sprinkler systems as freezing temperatures are expected tonight.

This will help keep the roads and sidewalks from potential icing.

City officials say want residents and businesses to reset their automatic sprinklers for a few days during the very cold weather.

Drivers and pedestrians should also be cautious of changing conditions.

“If we can get them cut off we won't have any instances of water on the roads and the sidewalks because we have had that before, and have had accidents. But it's just as important for the pedestrians and the drivers to recognize this kind of situation can occur,” says Wes Smith, with the City of Albany.

Temperatures are expected to drop this week.
