ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A non-profit organization is seeking a partnership with the Dougherty County School System to help at risk students.
The Great Promise Partnership hopes to provide jobs to students 16 and up through partnerships with local employers.
The goal is to increase high school graduation rates and boost career success.
Officials are now looking for employers to partner with.
"These students we place them in the work place," said Devaki Gordon, South Georgia Coordinator with Great Promise Partnership. "We haven't had any work places set up as of yet. We're looking to seek SASCO, maybe Proctor & Gamble, Tara Foods and many more who's willing to come on board."
The school board decided to hold off voting on the program until they get more information about it.
The program could support 65 students.
