Man stabbed after rescuing woman in danger

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Thomasville Police are looking for a man who punched his girlfriend in the eye and stabbed a man who was trying to help her.

Police say Latoya Waldrop and her boyfriend Jimmy Crumbry were in an argument when Crumbry punched her in her left eye. 

A man named Otis Forbes who didn't know the woman, wanted to help and tried to break up the fight. He walked Waldrop back home. Her boyfriend followed them and stabbed Forbes twice on his side.

"He did the right thing because if not the female subject could have been hurt severely in essence of him getting stabbed its not a good thing but his heart was in the right place and he was trying to help someone," said Captain Maurice Holmes.

Investigators are searching for Crumbry, he will be charged with aggravated assault. Police say Forbes was sent to Archbold Hospital for treatment and Waldrop refused any medical treatment.
