Third suspect arrested in home invasion

COFFEE CO., GA (WALB) -

According to the Coffee County Sheriff's Office the third suspect has been arrested in a home invasion/armed robbery case.

Officials reported that Kenneth Powell Jr. was arrested Wednesday in connection to a home invasion and armed robbery in the Oak Park area on December 14th.

The Sheriff's Office received information that Powell was located at a residence in the 400 block of the Groves Mobile Home Park. Investigators followed up on the information and discovered Powell hiding under the kitchen sink and arrested him.

Quentin Gilbert and Santill Shaw were arrested on the day of the incident in December.

All three suspects are being charged with one count of armed robbery and are being held without bond in the Coffee County Jail.

Gilbert is also being held on a probation warrant.

    Health officials are urging you to be careful around wildlife and stray animals, after a South Georgia family was attacked by a fox with rabies. This happened last Thursday on Cotton Avenue in Lake Park. A man and his dog were attacked by the fox when they went outside their house. Lowndes County animal service employees said the fox's test came back positive for Rabies. "Once someone really becomes infected with the rabies virus and it develops into the disease.
