VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Kendrick Johnson's mother believes 2016 is the year of accountability.
"2016 is Kendrick's year for someone to be held accountable for his death," Jacquelyn Johnson mother of Kendrick Johnson said.
Currently Johnson's case is under federal investigation. Ms. Johnson says these past three years have been hard on her but she has not stopped seeking justice for her son.
"Things that they stop were going to make me stop. Those are the things that keep me going. Besides Kendrick, he keeps me going because he was my child," Johnson said.
Many people came out today to march, including the father of St. Louis teen Mike Brown who was shot and killed by an officer, and Andrew Joseph III. A Florida teen who's father says he was killed after sheriff's deputies kicked him out of a state fair. Joseph's father says they are a part of a unfortunate support system, but days like today are important.
"It's an opportunity to have our voices heard to have our concerns heard. Because this is the worst place that you want to be is standing in our shoes," Andrew Joseph said.
As for Johnson today is also a day where the same question she had since her son's death still remains.
"We want to know exactly what happened to our son," Johnson said.
