ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A man police have wanted for a month is now in the Dougherty County jail.
Featured on WALB's Most Wanted, 18 year old Frankie Newberry was wanted for aggravated assault, in the December 5th shooting of 33-year-old Jamaal Clyde.
"I think just getting the message out and the word out there through you all, Facebook, Media social, I was able to help with the capture of Mr. Newberry," said Teresa Clyde.
He was shot once in the head, once in the hip, and once in the hand.
The victim's mother came to Albany in December, hoping to get tips about Newberry's whereabouts.
Teresa Clyde handed out flyers in front of the Law Enforcement Center downtown, asking people to help find Newberry.
Investigators say Clyde was shot three times in the 800 block of Corn Avenue While leaving a party. His mother wants justice, as he fights to recover.
"Once in the head. Once in the hip. One in the hand. My son is damaged for the rest of his life. My family is damaged. All of us are hurting behind this," she said.
Jamaal Clyde continues to recover from his wounds at his mother's home in Athens.
