SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) - Asset Protection officers in the Sylvester Walmart saw two men loitering in the electronic department Monday afternoon, and got suspicious.
They confronted Brandon Juwan Sibley and Donte Derwin Robinson, both of Albany, and discovered that a box of diapers they had was full... of X-Box games, worth almost $1,000.
Sylvester Police officers took them into custody and charged them with shoplifting and criminal trespass.
"Walmart has had several thefts in the past, and they know to keep an eye out for any suspicious activities that are going on. And at this time, they were able to make the arrest," said Lt. Ken Washington, of SPD.
Police say the men emptied a box of disposable diapers, and filled the box with approximately 18 X-Box games, totaling $960.95.
Donte Robinson had a back pack, containing two computer hard drives and a CD wallet, valued at $134.75. Sibley had a magnet tool to deactivate the security devices on the games.
Brandon Juwan Sibley, 17, is charged with Possession of Tools for Commission of a Crime, Theft by Shoplifting over $500.00, and Criminal Trespass.
Donte Derwin Robinson, 18, is charged with Theft By Shoplifting, more than $500.00.
They were both taken to the Worth County Jail, where they posted bond, and were released.
