MITCHELL CO., GA (WALB) - Mitchell County officials say they have reopened Old Georgia Highway 3.
It was closed Thursday due to flood waters getting very close to the roads.
Officials say there was some flooding on the roads this weekend, but it wasn't severe.
"It had gone down to a safe level and it was down low enough so I can see the shoulders to make sure I can see. So there was no washing. Water was going back down so we opened it back up," said Road Superintendent Chip Willingham.
However, there is very little shoulder on the road, because water is still standing on both sides.
