The Mitchell County EMA Director says that the Old Highway 3 remains closed.
Friday they closed it as a precaution due to the flood waters rising near the area.
So far some parts of the road does have water on it.
The Director says he is happy that they did things in advance.
"Just people being in tune with what's going on is most important. You know the thing we want to do is protect property as best we can and the lives of citizens," Clark Harrell said.
Right now there hasn't been any reports of major damage in Mitchell County.
