Lake Blackshear floodwater may possibly rise

Steve Rentfrow Steve Rentfrow
LAKE BLACKSHEAR, GA (WALB) -

The floodwater in Lake Blackshear is on the way down.

The Crisp County Power Commission said while the water is dropping, recent rainfall is causing the lake levels to drop very slowly.

Officials are now keeping a close eye on the flood activity in Montezuma.

"The fact that the U.S. Geological Survey forecast now shows the river level in Montezuma going back up to 23 and a half feet next Monday that's one foot higher than it was this week," said Steve Rentfrow.

If predictions that have been made do happen, Blackshear will rise another foot.
