CRISP CO., GA (WALB) - The Georgia State Patrol is reminding holiday travelers to stay safe traveling wet roads this weekend. Troopers say it's important for drivers to keep a safe distance between themselves and other cars on the roads.
They also want drivers to have their lights turned on when it's raining. However, they say neither of these are the most important thing though.
"Probably the most important thing to do is to pay attention to your speeds. We stop more people on the interstate and two lanes where they look like they honestly don't realize how fast they were running," said Sgt. Jon Posey with the Georgia State Patrol.
Troopers will also have road blocks set up trying to catch buzzed and drunk drivers.
