The Albany Area YMCA wants to help people start the new year off right.

On Friday, you can come in for a New Year's Day open house.

Members and non-members can visit either the Albany or Leesburg location to enjoy refreshments and a tour for visitors.

The first few people will also get a free t-shirt.

Organizers said that they want to keep the public engaged.

"We have a lot of new members. It's our goal to keep them engaged so that they'll stay members and not after a few months in, kind of give up that new year's resolution. And we wanna keep them at the Y having fun and staying healthy," said YMCA Marketing Director Tracey Wallace.

They expect a big crowd, and will be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Albany and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Leesburg.
