Police urge New Years safety

Major Eric Hampton, Thomasville Police Department Major Eric Hampton, Thomasville Police Department
THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Police urge you to do your part to reduce the number of traffic accidents around the New Year's holiday.

They want to make sure you don't drink and drive, to protect yourself and others on the road. Thomasville Police say they'll be out on New Year's Eve looking for impaired drivers.

"We talk about this everyday year after year, day in and day out and people still do it so we're going to be looking for those people who out there drinking and driving regardless how much we talk about this they still drink and drive," said Major Eric Hampton.

Police say it's really pretty simple. If you plan to drink on New Year's Eve, have a designated driver or call a cab.
