BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) - Officials in Bainbridge expect moderate flooding this week.  Bainbridge City Manager Chris Hobby says that the Earle May Boat Basin will begin to see areas of flooding, and City of Bainbridge Campground will be closed Monday evening.

He said that water is not expected to cause damage or get high enough to enter homes, but residents of Riverdale Road should expect to have flooding over the low point in the road, and will need to prepare for this temporary travel barrier.

According to a Flood Warning issued by the National Weather Service, the Flint River will rise above flood stage Monday afternoon and continue to rise to near 29.4 feet by Thursday evening.  Flood stage is 25.0 feet.

At 9:45 Monday morning, the stage was 24.6 feet.  People living along the Flint River should monitor the latest forecasts, and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect property.

Do not drive though flooded areas.
