The Golden Rams regain focus before their next home game
Moore said improving the intensity will be key
Moore expects more from his players as conference play gets rolling
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
The ASU basketball team limped into the Christmas break with 8 straight losses. So head coach Michael Moore took it upon himself to send a message.
Players returned to their first practice since the break to a surprise, cleaned out lockers and old practice uniforms.
Moore reminded his young team they have to earn everything. that goes for the new practice uniforms, to playing time, and most importantly conference wins.
Moore made it clear to the players the culture has to change. The team's new motto is be strong. Being young is no longer an excuse.
"I told everybody relax, stay calm," said Moore. "My team is relatively young. I think a lot of my guys were shopping at Toys-R-Us over the Christmas break. that is how young we are. we've got to play with more intensity. We've got to play better at home. We haven't won a home game since the exhibition."
The Golden Rams have three straight home games following the break. First one is new year's eve against Point University.
