SUMTER CO., GA (WALB) - Flash flooding shuts down several roads in south Georgia.
The Sumter County Sheriff advises you to stay home until the danger passes.
Right now in Sumter County only Della Glass Road off US HWY 49 South remains shut down.
Earlier tonight parts of HWY 49 and 19 were blocked.
The wet conditions caused several wrecks.
Sheriff Pete Smith says while the situation is getting better you shouldn't take any chances.
"I would just recommended people to stay off the road, unless they just had to, until all this water subsides. And you don't want nobody in a wreck to get hurt or anything," Sheriff Pete Smith said.
The sheriff says Della Glass Road will reopen as soon as the water recedes from the road.
