ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

14 Albany State students were named to the Who's who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges.

Of that number, eight were members of the athletic programs.

Senior mass communications major Tiffany Roesler of the volleyball team and junior Health & Human Performance major Artisha Holston of the women's basketball team headline the list.

Over 1,000 schools are considered across America, and ASU is proud to be represented, especially by student athletes.

"We're always preaching to the student athletes," reminded Stan McCormick, student athlete affairs coordinator. "It's okay to do what you do on the fields, the courts, the track. But to be well-rounded we need for you to do well academically and in the community. So those 8 students speak volumes for the prestige that they bring to our school."

Here are the other six athletes to make the list:

Cedric Ashe (ASU Football), Morgane Rainwater (ASU Women’s Track & Field), Jonatan Galan- (ASU Baseball), Damarkus Green (ASU Baseball), Demetri Wheeler (ASU Men’s Basketball), Jamal Abd Al-Qadir (ASU Football)
