LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - People who have purchased live Christmas trees can recycle them in Lee County.
"Keep One For The Chipper" provides services to recycle Christmas trees into mulch that can be used as beautification projects in the community.
The mulch will be available for free to citizens.
In order to participate, people can take their undecorated tree with the stand removed to one of the following locations:
- FIRE STATION / 934 U S 19 SOUTH. (LOOK FOR CHIPPER SIGN)
- FIRE STATION / 1289 GRAVE SPRINGS ROAD (FACING PHILEMA RD)
- SALT LICK SAUSAGE CO / 1293 HWY 82 (BEHIND STORE)
- LEE COUNTY LANDFILL / 759 HWY 32 EAST (BEHIND PUBLIC WORKS)
The recycling opportunity runs from Dec. 26 through Jan. 2.
