ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful is encouraging you to recycle this holiday period. A shelf at their office displays several different recycled items.
There's old newspaper that has been turned to fertilizer, 2-liter bottles that became carpet, and even old tires turned into mulch.
The director hopes this display encourages more recycling.
"It shows the end products. It shows us what we do after we collect the materials. And some of these things are really innovative and interesting," said Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful's Executive Director Judy Bowles.
Bowles said families increase waste by about 25 percent around the holidays.
