ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Many shoppers were taking advantage of last minute deals in time for the weekend before Christmas.

Mall officials said most of the stores were having Christmas sales going on. A few deals were even lower than 50 percent off.

Now may be the best time to shop if you are still getting gifts.

"There are lots of sales to take advantage of," said Debra Rowe. "A lot of our tenants now are offering clearance prices for some of their Christmas items so it's a great time to shop."

Besides Black Friday, this weekend may the busiest time for shoppers.

Traffic is predicted to only get worse up until Christmas Eve. The mall will also provide extended hours for shoppers who are able to get out earlier.

Albany Mall will be open Saturday from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m., Sunday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., and from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. for those who wish to shop on the weekdays.

The extended hours is something mall officials do during the holidays since it is the best time to shop.
