LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -

A Leesburg Army veteran continues to search for a kidney donor.

James Smith said that both of his kidneys are failing from taking prescription blood medication for nearly 30 years.

Smith has been on home dialysis for a year and a half and on the transplant list for a year.

Smith is still optimistic that he will find a match.

"I pray and I keep my fingers crossed hoping that someone will call and say that they want to donate a kidney and if and when that happens then Atlanta is the one to make the final decision," said Smith.

Smith's blood type is "O." If you think you may be a match and would like to help, you can contact Smith, who also goes by Joe, at (229) 343-2157.
