ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany mother needs help laying her 5 month old son to rest after he lost his battle with a rare heart condition.
Zion Omega Plummer died Wednesday.
A month after he was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, he had two open heart surgeries, six cath procedures and a permanent feeding tube installed at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
His mother, Jasmine Plummer, said that Zion was an inspiration.
"He's touched a lot of people. They've been following his story and my Pastor in Atlanta says it taught him to continue to fight against all odds and he taught me too," said Plummer.
The hospital gave Zion's family a memory box with a card and an imprint of his hand and feet.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Union Baptist Church in Albany.
