ALBANY, GA (WALB) - American Legion members in Albany are helping to fight cancer.
Representatives from Post 512 gave a $500 check to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital's cancer center Wednesday afternoon.
"Anything we can do to help out in this world, we are going to do it, this was a great time. October came for our black party, we added some pink, we could care about the people here in our community," said American Legion Treasurer Dawn Hodge.
The donation was also partly in honor of a member of the post who is a breast cancer survivor.
