APD says be alert after robberies

Chief Persley Chief Persley
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Police Chief sends out a warning, after three armed robberies on Monday.

Surveillance video shows a man using a small derringer to rob Tate's Liquor Store in the 2400 block of Sylvester Road about 8:00 last night.  As he leaves, you get a good look at his face under that hoodie.

APD Chief Michael Persley warns Albany business owners to change your routine daily because robbers are watching.

"They want some extra money, and they will get it anyway they can.  You have to use some extra precaution. One go back and look at your practices. Just because you have a safe practice and it's kept you safe for 11 months, all it takes is one time," Chief Persley said.

Albany Police officers say they are on special watch for suspicious people around businesses.

They want you to do the same and call Police to report suspicious activity.
