Three arrested for assault, drug possession in Coffee Co.

DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) -

Just before midnight Sunday, Coffee County Deputies were dispatched to Spanish Oak Street, in reference to an assault and possible home invasion.

Sheriff Doyle Wooten said that deputies found Cristobal Sales with several scratches and cuts on his face as well as a severely swollen jaw.

Sales said that two men and a woman forced their way into the back door. Sales said they all started beating him and drug him outside where they continued to beat and kick him.

Neighbors came to his aid, and the three attackers ran off. Sales was transported to Coffee Regional Hospital and treated.

Detectives identified the suspects, and apprehended them in the Oak Park area.

The following individuals have been arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery and Kidnapping in this case:

Julian Minix, 22, Haley Watson, 17, and Joshua Ryan Weldon, 22, all of the Oak Park Area, were arrested.

Minix was also found to be in Possession of Marijuana and what is believed to be Meth.

The three remain in the Coffee County Jail awaiting a first appearance hearing before the Coffee County Magistrate Judge.
