Military mom surprises daughter, mother

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Air Force Sergeant returns home to Albany after being stationed in South Korea for about a year.

It was an unexpected Christmas surprise for her mom and daughter.
Sergeant Alethea Keaton's mother volunteers at her daughter's school, International Studies Elementary School. Keaton showed up there to surprise them both.

Nine year old Kaydin Keaton and her Grandmother did not expect to see her mother Sergeant Alethea Keaton. But both are happy she surprised them.

"I am feeling exited, just oh,I don't know I can't even describe it," Cassandra Floyd said.
"Excited, happy shocked, excellent, and great," Kaydin Keaton said.

Sergeant Keaton says it was her daughter who hoped for the surprise.

But as for her mom, who is a volunteer at Kaydin's school, that was the harder part.

"My daughter she wanted to be surprised. But my mom she wanted to know every step of the way,"  Alethea Keaton said.

It's been sometime since Keaton spent time with her family during the holidays.

"Last year I didn't get to celebrate with my family it makes it hard but it's well worth it," Alethea Keaton said.

But for both Kaydin and her Grandmother this is the best gift they could receive this year.

"This is the best Christmas present ever,"Cassandra Floyd said.

Sergeant Keaton said she also surprised her dad and grandma after seeing her mom and daughter. She also said everyone in her family is happy to have her home.
