The Georgia State Patrol reported that a 32-year-old male was driving south on Troupeville Highway in Brooks County when he was distracted by his two-year-old son and lost control.
State troopers said the driver went off the east shoulder of the road and overturned twice, hitting a fence.
Troopers say both the father and the son were unrestrained and partially ejected from the vehicle.
First responders attempted to airlift the child to the hospital, but could not stabilize him.
The 2-year-old was transported to Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, but later died.
The father was reported to be uninjured in the crash.
The crash is under further investigation by Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team.
