ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Leaders of the First Apostolic Church in Albany are getting ready for their annual Food Giveaway Saturday morning.
Volunteers were busy Friday afternoon unloading truckloads of food into the church, where it was packed into boxes that will be given to families.
"We want to give a whole family's worth," Lillie Thomas. "So somebody will be able to enjoy a dinner for Christmas."
Each box will be loaded with food and treats enough to feed a family for three days, including a turkey.
"Be ready to receive a box," Pastor Betty Jackson. "And be thankful to God that somebody is thinking about you."
The church said the food is for anybody, but you must show a form of identification.
The giveaway starts at 8 a.m. Saturday at the church located on the 400 block of Lumpkin Street in East Albany.
