Two hospitalized, one arrested in Bainbridge shooting

BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) -

Officers say one suspect has been arrested in connection to a shooting that injured two people.

It happened at a home on Japonica Drive just before 11 p.m. Thursday.

According to a report, witnesses said two black men drove up to the home, and started yelling for someone inside.

Two people standing outside in the yard said they didn't know who they were asking for. That's when the driver of the car got out, pulled out a handgun, and opened fire.

Then the second man got out of the car, and also started shooting.

A man and woman inside the home were injured as several bullets went through the walls of the home.

The man was airlifted to a Tallahassee hospital, and the woman was taken by ambulance to a closer hospital for treatment.

There was no immediate word on the condition of the two injured.

Bainbridge Public Safety said one of the suspects was identified and arrested at 4:30 a.m. Friday. His name was not immediately released.

Investigators said more information would be released as it becomes available.
