ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Dougherty County School System is investigating abuse allegations at their Pre-K center.
A mother told them her daughter was verbally and physically abused by a teacher Wednesday at Sylvandale Elementary School.
The mother claims the teacher used profanity and kicked her daughter.
She sent WALB pictures of bruises on her daughter's body.
"We're checking into the parents allegations which I believe were posted on social media," said J.D. Sumner, DCSS Public Relations. "We have talked to the parent. We have talked to the principal and the principal has talked to the teacher and that investigation is on-going and we hope to have a resolution soon."
School system officials say they will take the appropriate action based on the facts that the investigation uncovers.
