Chehaw helps South Georgia charities raise money

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Chehaw opened their Festival of Lights for an extra night to help South Georgia charities.
All proceeds from Wednesday night’s first Charity Night will go to the charity of the paying guest's choice.
Parents of children with disabilities who play in the Challenger League stood with their signs encouraging people to give to their group.

"We're so grateful because there's so few opportunities for small charitable organizations like ours to get attention and find people without having a big advertising budget,” said Kathleen Harris- Fiorito, Challenger League Mom.

"It's really important that we support our community and be good community partners,” said Morgan Burnette, Chehaw Public Relations.

Chehaw officials hope to make Charity Night an annual event.
