THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Representatives from the District Attorney's office in Valdosta and Thomasville are collecting Christmas gift cards for teens in foster care. This is the first year they've done the project to make sure young victims of abuse and neglect have a merry Christmas.

"I called defax to inform them that we would like to reach out to teenagers in foster care and Ms. Candice Jones was over the moon excited that we are reaching out to this age group because like with our outreach that is usually the age group that is left out," said Gwen Tyler, victim advocate for the DA's office.

You can send gift cards in 20 dollar increments to the district attorney's offices in Thomasville and Valdosta.
