Albany students donate help Georgia burn victims

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A group of second grade students at Lincoln Elementary School donate to help Georgia children burned in fires.

The Lincoln Elementary School Leaders student group raised $500 and donated it to the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation Tuesday, for their Burn The Boot campaign. The student's sponsor Megan Roquemore  presented the check to Albany Fire Department Inspector Laurence Cargile.

Roquemore said "This is a great way to just give back to our community."

Cargile said "It helps the families of burn victims, when children are burned."

This is the second year in a row that the Lincoln Elementary student leaders have raised money to help Georgia burned children in their recovery.
