ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany is spreading holiday cheer.

Friday, members from the Jane Willson and Jefferson Street Units donated 45 Christmas stockings to the Salvation Army.
They filled the stockings with toys, books, pencils, and snacks they collected as part of a community engagement project.

"One of our priority outcome areas is good character and citizenship,” said Jacqueline Robinson, Director of Programs & Outcome Measurements. “So at the Boys & Girls Club we like to provide an opportunity for our young people to be actively and meaningfully engaged in their community. So we wanted to be able to give right here locally to an organization and community that gives us so much."

The organization is working on other projects for the holiday season.
