Former Tifton bank president pleads guilty in fraud case

TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

A former Tifton bank president is faces at least 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to bank fraud.

According to the plea agreement, 49-year-old Gary Patton Hall Jr. mislead Tifton Banking Company and its loan committee on a number of loans including one he approved to the buyer of his Panama City Beach condominium.

Hall also agreed that he owes more than $3.9 million in restitution for the losses suffered.

The Tifton Banking Company was closed five years ago because of its financial problems.

There was no immediate word on when Hall will be sentenced.
