ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany State University is offering veterans support training.

Faculty, staff, administrators and clinical professionals have an opportunity for training with Dr. Paula Domenici to address the clinical concerns of student veterans and service members.

The program offers overviews of treatments for PTSD and some best practices for clinical interventions with student veterans.

It covers culture and experiences of service members and veterans on campus.

The deployment cycle and its impact on students reintegrating on campus after participating in the service.

"It's going to help those individuals who are going to be on the front line that's providing services for them," said Danette Saylor, V.P. for Student Affairs and Success. "It's going to give those individuals an understanding of how they can best support and serve our veterans and military personnel."

This comprehensive training will only take place in the state of Georgia once for the next 12 months.
