ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Heating and cooling companies are encouraging you to get your units checked before cold weather hits.
Safeaire said you should have a certified tech make sure there are no problems. They also say it's a good idea to check for cracks in doors and windows where air may sneak in.
"The preventative maintenance is the key. You don't want to be stuck in a situation where it's the weekend and it's cold and you need the heat. You'd rather them come out, find any issues and get those resolved before the cold weather hits," said Safeaire Service Manager Jonathan Siskey.
Siskey also said you should install a carbon monoxide detector if you have gas heat.
