CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

Children are looking forward to climbing on Santa's lap and telling him all their Christmas wishes. But parents aren't looking forward to the long lines at the malls or stores.

So Crisp County High School is hosting their "Cookies with Santa,"where kids to meet the man in red, without mom and dad having to deal with the long-line meltdown.

The event happens today from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the CCHS Cafetorium.

Student clubs are sponsoring activities for children as they wait for their turn to see Santa. Kids will get to decorate and eat cookies, there will be reindeer punch, face painting, and letters to Santa.

You can take selfies in the photo booth, and there will be a complete kiddie obstacle course.

Admission for the event is one, unwrapped new toy per child or a $10 donation. Photos with Santa will be $5. All proceeds (toys and monetary donations) collected at the event will benefit local children.
