AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - A business that went solar this summer says the investment is already paying off. Robert Parks installed the solar panels at his Edward Jones investment office in May and started using them in July.
His power bills have already decreased from about $6 per day to around $2 per day. He also received all of the federal grants that he applied for to cut costs even more.
"My payback is in two years. And then from then on, it's about a 20% rate of return off of my initial investment," said Parks.
Parks said he also sells power back to Georgia Power monthly if the panels produce more power than he needs.
