LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -

Leesburg city officials honored a state representative for his service.

Ed Rynders was presented a plaque by the Mayor, Board of Education and county officials.

The plaque is a commemorative shovel and picture from the groundbreaking of the north bypass.

Officials said Rynders has done much for the city of Leesburg and Lee County.

"Ed has his hand out trying to get money for us all the time in Atlanta. We're always begging him for money and he's always delivering. The north bypass is a great addition. It really ties Leesburg, Lee County and the schools together and without him that bypass may not have happened," said Mayor Jim Quinn.

Ed Rynders was sworn in as State Representative for District 152 in 2003.
