THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Thomasville is once again getting ready to take a journey into the past with their Victorian Christmas Festival and they prepare the eve

The work has already started at the costume shop and volunteers are making sure all of the clothes worn next week look the part of the Victorian Era. The city is known for their Victorian mansions, and traditional brick streets downtown so city organizers wanted to celebrate Christmas to honor the history of Thomasville..

"Thomasville has a very long history its a town with a lot of wonderful things in its past and something that's really exciting is to see those brick paved streets and the old buildings and people in traditional Victorian clothes its just such a cool picture of modern day people in that old time setting," said Sarah Turner, event manager of Thomasville.

And there's a whole lot more to the festival besides dressing up in costumes, this year they literally show us how large the event will be.

"This year will be larger than life... we have the worlds largest rocking horse that will be here, we will have two larger than life snow angels that will be out. It is a big year," said April Norton, Main Street and Auditorium Director.
