Leaders to meet on 'master' Albany trail system

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Cyclists and runners are spreading the word on social media about Albany's Trail System Master Plan meeting Wednesday.

They are hoping to get as many people in the community involved as possible to have their input on improvements for recreation and how to connect Chehaw, Rails to Trails, the Flint River Trails, and Radium Springs.

Albany resident Josh Fix says it's a way to bring the community together and attract visitors to Albany.

"We want people to have something to do with their kids, with their families," Fix said. "We want people to come to Albany, and people to say I had a blast riding our bikes in Albany, We camped at Chehaw and went to the zoo. We saw the camels, you know we want people to say that about Albany."

The meeting will start at 6:30 tomorrow at Chehaw's Creekside Building.
